Tom Gordon's Seaboard Air Line - West Georgia Subdivision (HO)

The West Georgia Subdivision is designed for lots of industry switching, and has a number of seriously modified kits and scratch built structures.  Locomotive power is provided by first generation diesels – with some “retired” SAL steam on the branchline. The C/MRI system controls the physical plant, and signal installation is in progress.

Peter Youngblood, MMR's Santa Fe Railway Colorado & Albuquerque Division

It is 1967 and Santa Fe’s east-west main line still moves freight and first class passenger name trains from Chicago to Los Angeles over Raton Pass and across Canyon Diablo.

Construction of this large HO scale layout is in the early stages with much of the main line sidings, branch line and point-to-point D&RGW narrow gauge “Chili Line” interchange still to be built. An interesting visit for those starting to build ambitious layouts.

Mole Valley Railway (On3)

Alan Mole
8370 Colonial Place, Duluth, GA  30097-6635

See Google Maps

The indoor version of the Mole Valley Railway was created soon after the outdoor (G scale) railroad was taken down and sold in 2013. Whereas the outdoor railway was based on DRG&W with a Colorado theme, indoors we have taken the narrow-gauge theme to a fictitious combination of everything we like from the NW and NE USA. So mountains, mining, rivers, waterfronts, docks, ships and other surprises will all be part of this railway.

So far the benchwork is 90% complete with the remaining 10% built but not installed. The initial project was the waterfront/wharf with various types of ships/boats. We then moved to the mountain/mining scene that will have to be completed before we can move the layout back against the wall. The scenery on this section is about 60% complete.

While we cannot have continuous running until the missing benchwork is installed, there are plenty of operational opportunities with the switchback track up to the mine, the turnaround (Y) on the wharf, and the “end of track” yard.

Visitors MUST sign-up or call before the event.  Alan will be unable to take calls during the open house.
