Division Meeting

Tue, 06/13/2017 - 7:00pm - 9:30pm

Clinic:   Pete Silcox presents "All Aboard Atlanta."  This is a great presentation on Atlanta Passenger Stations in the 1970’s.  Pete's clinic includes 50+ pictures of and around the stations and tracks with some terrific old passenger trains.

Bring and Brag:  Bring your favorite passenger car or train or whatever you have been working on and want to share.

The Board of Directors meets prior to the Division meeting.  The BOD meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.

Division Meeting

Tue, 03/14/2017 - 7:00pm - 9:30pm

Clinic:   Dan Mansfield presents "Routing Freight Cars."

Dan will be discussing routing freight cars using his car cards as the basis of operations on his Georgia RR. Dan always puts on an excellent clinic. You won’t want to miss this one.

Bring and Brag:  Bring your favorite CSX Locomotives or any of the fallen flags that make up CSX today.  We should see lots of locos.

The Board of Directors meets prior to the Division meeting.  The BOD meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.

Division Meeting

Tue, 02/14/2017 - 7:00pm - 9:30pm

Clinic:   George Eichelberger presents "Modeling Asheville-An Update in Progress"

George will be showing prototype details and operation that are included in his layout. He will be updating construction progress to date and experiences with everything from curved turnout construction. George is trying to model Southern Railway at Asheville, NC as accurately as possible. He will also be discussing issues while working with DCC on a large layout. He will have prototype drawings, model drawings, videos, and photos throughout the session.

Bring and Brag:  Bring out your favorite Southern Railway railroad equipment: Boxcars, gons, passenger cars, cabooses, locos.

The Board of Directors meets prior to the Division meeting.  The BOD meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.

Division Meeting

Tue, 01/10/2017 - 7:00pm - 9:30pm

Clinic:   Dave Booker presents "Interchanging & Staging-Modern Short Line Meets Model Railroads."

Dave will cover how interchanges take place on the railroad. He will also show the computer systems used to manage a live interchange between railroads. He will then be sharing how to relate how he simulates these activities on his Coosa Valley RR. The goal is to educate not only how railroads do their business in the real world, but how to set up staging on your railroad to simulate the same events.

Bring and Brag:  January being inauguration month, bring your photos or stories of riding trains to Washington, DC for past inaugurations. As always, you can bring anything train related to share as well.

The Board of Directors meets prior to the Division meeting.  The BOD meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.
