Jerry (Mitch) Michnewicz's MNYC (Mitch's New York Central) (HO)

When Jerry was 18 years old, he was a telegrapher for the New York Central Railroad.  He has created a layout that brings back memories of his NYC experience in the late 1950's and is typical of industrial suburban Detroit, Michigan. The MNYC's overall size is 24x24 with more than 160 feet of mainline.   Scenery is 90% complete and is packed full of details.  This is a must see layout that can accommodate a large group at any one time.

Welcome aboard the Santa Fe Railway, a composite of how it was in 1967 between La Junta, CO and Flagstaff, AZ. A geographic area representing three southwestern states from a high plain in Colorado to a 3.5 % mountain grade into New Mexico and across a deep canyon in Arizona.

The time of combined “Super Chief/El Capitan” first class passenger trains from Chicago to Los Angeles and return. A time of heavy freight traffic and mail-by-rail contracts in their final year. First generation diesels are giving way to second generation power while Amtrak steadily advances on the horizon.

Steam locomotives, ghosts of the past, may reappear as soulless relics displayed behind chain link in city parks. Rumors abound two have been secreted away to be resurrected, perhaps to run again on special fan trips. One can only hope.

Raymond's N scale Central of Georgia "C" Line layout is a freelanced version of the prototype from Experiment, GA to Griffin, GA. The time period is loosely based from Jan 1950 to June 1963 prior to the Southern Railway merger. Scenery is near 40% complete, backdrop is painted masonite, DCC Digitrax control. Layout is approx. 23 ft long and avg 2 feet wide except both ends are 2 ft 6 inches to allow for the curves.   See Raymond's Central of Georgia "C" Line online

His HO layout is a "proto-freelance" based of the Illinois Central from the 1950s and is brought into current day under private ownership rather than that if the CN. Yard trackage that is hand laid onto Central Valley tie strips and turnouts are a mixture of commercial components. The yard is laid on cabinet liner foam while the main, branch line and sidings  are laid on cork roadbed. No scenery, track laying is no complete and will be operated with Digitrax DCC. Back drop is painted Masonite.

Both layouts are under construction.
