Welcome to spring. We are seeing a totally different time that I hope we never have to go through again. I hope we can resume at the church again in July but there is an order still for folks 65 and older till June 12th to Shelter in Place, so it may be best that we wait until July.  That will be our Pizza and Swap night meeting. We could really use some social time together again, so cross your fingers.
We are trying hard to bring you a quality clinic each month in the virtual space. This month Charlie Crawford MMR will present about The Railway Mail Service. Enjoy his clinic on how railroad once moved the mail through our great country by rail. May 12th, 7:00 pm. We will also show his clinic on Facebook and we will attempt to get the video on YouTube of another Open House virtual layout tour as well. On Saturday, May 23rd around noon we will try to have the video up of Perry Lamb’s Utah, Colorado and Western Railroad. I have already captured the video; it just needs editing to get it ready for publishing.

John Bost will be our June 9th clinician that we will hold virtually. He will be doing it on An Exercise in Scratch building with Styrene. John is a superb modeler and will be able to share with you some great ideas on how he does it.  In June we will also have Charlie Crawford’s NYC layout on virtual tour. That will be June 20th around noon.

Please pay close attention to the PIEDMONT DIVISION website for future info and changes. Also be sure to check our Facebook site as well. Things can change at the last minute, so be prepared. If you have not downloaded Webex (the program that we use to present clinics), please see the instruction on our website for downloading the software.

The NMRA National has been putting together clinics as well. If you have not tuned in to NMRA-X Virtual Facebook Convention now is the time. Get on Facebook first.

Please go to this link for this weekend’s presentations. They will be up on Saturday 4 am-4pm. We will be starting one every hour.

Please enjoy the clinics. Lots of great info from all over the world of NMRA members.

Till we meet again,
Walt Liles
Superintendent, Piedmont Division - NMRA
