Peter Youngblood, MMR’s Santa Fe Railway (Colorado & Albuquerque Divisions)

It’s 1967 and Santa Fe’s east-west main line still moves freight and first class passenger name trains from Chicago to Los Angeles. Loosely modeled from La Junta, CO over Raton Pass and across Canyon Diablo to Flagstaff, AZ, construction of the 28’ x 48’ HO scale layout is in its thirteenth year. Far from completion one feature yet to be built is the dual-gauge yard in Santa Fe, the branch line terminus from Lamy which interchanges with the D&RGW’s narrow gauge “Chili Line” running northwest along the Rio Grande to Taos Junction, NM. Although historically prototypical, D&RGW’s Chili Line ceased operations after  WWII so this rendition will be a fictitious 1967 tourist line recreation.

Peter is the Piedmont Division’s Superintendent Emeritus, former SER Director,  and SER Education Program Chair, current SER Nominating Committee Chair and most recently, former NMRA Nat’l. At-Large North American Director.  He is in his 6th year as a Modeling with the Masters instructor.  Peter completed all eleven MMR Achievement  Program certificates.

If you are interested in visiting Peter's layout, contact the Piedmont Division Director of Operations at no later than 9pm, Friday, September 13.  You will receive directions to the layout.
